Values
Our work is important - we impact upon many people’s lives, everyday. This means we have a responsibility to ensure that strong values guide us in everything we do. We want to make sure we are:
Constructive
We are constructive in the way we provide information, advice and service.

Transparent
We work in a transparent way in an environment which is open and honest.
Effective
We are effective by working collaboratively to deliver high quality services.
Caring
We demonstrate care by showing empathy in our dealings with everyone we work with.
It’s important that these values guide us in our dealings with each other and our stakeholders, every day.
Career paths
There are three parts to our organisation.
WorkSafe Victoria, the health and safety arm of our business, has achieved the best workplace safety record in Australia. We are proud of this and are passionate about taking it even further so that more Victorians come home from work safely every day.
The Rehabilitation and Compensation business unit ensures that when accidents do happen at work, injured workers receive the best possible care and services. The aim is to get people back to work quickly and safely, with lower costs to employers and the Victorian community.
Behind the scenes are our Business Support divisions that include: Marketing/Communications, Finance/Administration, Human Resources, Corporate Legal and Information Services.
Given the reach that our organisation has across all Victorian industries, careers here are equally diverse and include:

Applying for an advertised position
To apply for an advertised position, please provide your resume and a cover letter addressing your suitability for the role. We prefer that you email your application to careers@worksafe.vic.gov.au, quoting the position number in subject line of your email.
Please quote the job reference number on all correspondence.
Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted, unless requested by WorkSafe to participate in the recruitment process.
Only people with the right to work in Australia may apply for positions at WorkSafe Victoria.
What to expect at interviews
WorkSafe Victoria encourages that interviews be a two-way communication process. It’s an opportunity for you to determine whether we are the right organisation for you, and it’s our opportunity to establish whether you have the necessary skills, experience and cultural fit to be successful in the role.
All our interviews include a panel of 2 or 3 people, chaired by the hiring manager. The interview panel will focus on the key selection criteria outlined in the position description. They will use behavioural based interview techniques to illicit specific work related examples of when you have demonstrated a particular skill or competency in practice.
Your responses should be specific and detailed. Candidates who tell the panel about real and recent situations that relate to each question will be more effective and successful than those who respond in general terms.
Ideally, you should briefly describe the situation, what specific action you took, and the outcome.
It is not always easy to call on your memory to think of a perfect example when answering a behavioural based question. We encourage you to take your time in answering questions and feel free to use your resume or notes to assist you.
Are you eligible to apply?
WorkSafe Victoria follows the Victorian and Federal Government’s guidelines to determine eligibility to work. Documentary evidence of your right to work will be required prior to appointment.
Further details can be obtained from the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs.
