WorkSafe conducts seminars, conferences and events as part of our ongoing commitment to informing, educating and advising the community on workplace health and safety issues. Our upcoming events are listed below.
Work Safe Week 2008
This year Work Safe Week is being held from 27-31 October.
Work Safe Week activities include:
- conferences
- educational seminars
- interactive workshops
- panel discussions
- breakfasts, BBQs and more...
They’re practical, hands on, free and most importantly, they’ll cover current issues affecting workplaces, such as new construction regulations, the new dangerous goods code, manual handling, young workers and return to work, to name a few

WorkSafe Awards dinner
The WorkSafe Victoria Awards Dinner is a major highlight of Work Safe Week which acknowledges the individuals and businesses that have made significant contributions to improving health and safety in their workplace over the last 12 months.

Occupational therapist tender information session
The Health Services Group (HSG) is currently tendering for two occupational therapy related initiatives:
- Network Occupational Therapy Services
- Benefit and Support Services Assessments
As part of the tendering process, the HSG are holding the following information sessions for occupational therapists interested in participating in the request for tenders:
- Geelong – 9 September 2008;
- Melbourne – 10 September 2008;
- Shepparton – 8 September 2008 (subject to the number of registrations);
The purpose of these sessions will be to provide an overview of both the initiatives and provide information about preparing a response to each tender.

Join WorkSafe personnel and industry experts who will discuss the new Cold Storage guidance, which contains crucial information on a range of topics which may affect your business. This forum also provides you with the opportunity to ask WorkSafe personnel questions and hear about an opportunity which can add value to your business.
Bridge & Gantry Crane Supplier Forum
Join WorkSafe personnel and industry experts who will discuss the new Bridge & Gantry Crane guidance, which contains crucial information on a range of topics which may affect your business and the way your customers interact with you. This forum also provides you with the opportunity to ask WorkSafe personnel questions and hear about an opportunity which can add value to your business.
The WorkSafe Annual Certification Seminars focus on what employer's and their financial representatives need to know to complete the Declaration of Rateable Remuneration for 2008. They cover common issues such as what to include in the calculation of rateable remuneration, contractors, interstate arrangements, on-hire arrangements, WorkCover Industry Classification and completing the Declaration using the online system.
As is the practice of WorkSafe, these sessions are free of charge and aim to provide you with practical information to help you better understand and manage your WorkSafe Injury Insurance premium obligations.

Employer Return to Work Network events: Event Calendar for 2008
Join WorkSafe and a variety of guest speakers at these free events designed for those who are responsible for managing injured workers in your workplace or who play a role in helping them back to work. These events are designed to enhance your skills, knowledge and capacity for an early and sustainable RTW for injured workers. There is also an opportunity for employers to share their RTW ideas and experiences with each other.
